Privacy
Privacy policy.
Plain English, because a privacy policy you cannot understand protects nobody. This page explains what information this website handles, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
ADHD Yorkshire provides ADHD assessments for children and adults, in York and online, and is run by Dr Alex Hull, Clinical Psychologist, registered with the HCPC (PYL32817). For anything in this policy, contact adhdyorkshire@protonmail.com. Dr Alex Hull is the data controller for the information described here.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website and the information you share when you enquire or book a consultation. The clinical information gathered during an assessment itself is covered in more detail by the terms and conditions you receive before anything clinical begins.
What we collect, and how
If you book a free consultation, the booking runs through Calendly and collects your name, your email address and the time you choose, along with anything you type into the booking form. If you email or telephone us, we receive whatever you choose to share. Email is handled through Proton Mail.
The website itself is deliberately quiet. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and contains no advertising trackers, and its fonts are served from our own site rather than from a third party. Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, which include the address a request came from, for security and operational reasons.
How we use your information
To reply to you, to arrange and hold consultations, to carry out assessments where you go ahead, and to keep the records we are professionally required to keep. The lawful bases we rely on are consent when you contact or book with us, contract when you engage the service, legitimate interests in running the practice, and our legal and professional obligations as a regulated clinical service.
Clinical information
Anything you share as part of an assessment is handled confidentially, in line with HCPC professional standards and UK data protection law. Your report and the letter to your GP are shared with your consent. Clinical records are retained in line with professional record keeping requirements, and you are welcome to ask about this at any time.
Who we share information with
Nobody, for marketing. Your information is never sold. It is shared only with your consent, such as the letter to your GP, with the providers that make the service run, which are Calendly for bookings, Proton Mail for email and Netlify for hosting, or where the law or somebody's safety requires it. Calendly may process booking information outside the UK, with the safeguards set out in its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, ask for it in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time. Email adhdyorkshire@protonmail.com and we will help. If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
